Overview:
Soul Calibur IV is the fifth installment in Namco's Soul series of fighting games. Namco has announced that the game will be released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2008. Although the game is unlikely to be released on the Wii, Soulcalibur Legends is set to appear exclusively on the console sometime in 2007. Nevertheless, IGN states that Namco has not explicitly said that the game is not for the Wii.

For the first time in the series history, the game will have competitive online play.

An arcade version has not yet been announced, making it the 2nd game in the franchise to not be released in the arcades first.

Soul Calibur 4 appears (from the E3 trailer) to be the finale to the soul series story saying in the trailer the warriors head slowly towrds its inevitable conclusion.
